About Mums with Tots!
Profile and information on Mums with Tots and owner Pamela Orji
Pamela Orji (Owner)
Pamela Orji has been professionally involved with parent education since early 2007 when she became frustrated with the lack of information or support available to her when she, herself, was a new mum.
After voicing those frustrations to other parents, she realised that there was a great need for an organisation to fill in the gap between those parent information services the state is prepared to provide and those currently provided only to parents with deep pockets. She decided to start Mums with Tots to meet that need.
Whilst she engages highly qualified instructors to provide Pregnancy Workshops and Pilates; Pam is an accredited First Aid instructor (trained and accredited by Aid-Training Operations); an accredited Baby Massage instructor (International Association of Infant Massage); and has trained in an accredited course in Post-natal Care with (Newborn Education Services and Training). She has up to date CRB clearance.
Prior to founding Mums With Tots, Pam spent many years working with an international charity mentoring and coaching young women; worked for a spell with the Learning Skills Council; and provided business development services in the West African non-governmental sector.
Pam has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Politics from the University of East Anglia and an MSc in Economics from the School of Oriental and African Studies of the University of London.
Kay Barber
Kay Barber has been a midwife for 16 years. She has worked on hospital delivery suites, as a community midwife, and at a stand alone Midwifery led birth centre. Currently she is using her varied experience to lead ante natal classes and provide valuable support for new mothers and babies, especially in establishing and maintaining breast feeding. She is passionate about her work and truly believes in a woman’s ability to grow, birth and feed her baby. She was invited to give evidence to the Health Select Committee, thus helping to influence provision of maternity care. Her additional qualifications include baby massage and an aromatherapy diploma"
Kay lives in Pinner and is married with one noisy extrovert daughter age 8. She was born in water at Edgware Birth Centre (just another day at work!).
Kay breastfed for 6 months and wishes that she had known then what she knows now about feeding a baby and dealing with one that doesn't seem to sleep!
Deborah King
Deborah King has been teaching Pilates in North West London for over 6 years. She gains great satisfaction in witnessing individuals transform their bodies, posture and confidence with this intelligent form of exercise. Her own journey with Pilates began 12 years ago when seeking a solution to back pain. Regular Pilates classes left her feeling taller, relaxed and free from discomfort. As a bonus, she was toning up without bulking up. She went on to gain her teaching certification with the highly respected “Stott Pilates” organisation in Canada. She is trained in pre and post-natal Pilates and is a Register of Exercise Professionals (REPS) Level 3 instructor.
